On Saturday, July 1, starting at 12:15 p.m., there was a power outage in the Ruza district, Moscow region. The settlements after Kolyubakino, including Vaiukhino, were mostly affected by the power outage. Restoration of the power supply in the settlement of Vaiukhino was completed by 11:45 p.m. that day. Settlements located after Kolyubakino remained without power until the next day. According to the administration of the Ruza city district, power outages were associated with preventative maintenance work on electrical networks.
Power outages in Ruza
Over the past few months, there have been several power outages in Ruza. In early June, power outages affected the villages of Novlyanskoe, Teterino, Staritsky, and Kolyupanovo. The power outages lasted for several hours. In late May, the village of Kolyubakino and its surrounding settlements were without power for a whole day. A sharp rise in electricity consumption is causing power outages in Ruza. According to local officials, several settlements, including Vaiukhino and Kolyubakino, will be connected to a more powerful substation by the end of next year. This will help to stabilize the power supply in the Ruza district.
Power supply in the Moscow region
The Moscow region is one of the most industrialized regions in the world. Many power plants located in the Moscow region supply electricity not only to the region but also to many other parts of Russia. However, due to the rapid development of the Moscow region, the existing power system is becoming increasingly congested and overloaded. New power plants and substations needed to be built to avoid overloading and prevent power outages.
Ecological issues of power plants
Some of the power plants located in the Moscow region are outdated and have a negative impact on the environment. For example, the Shaturskaya TPP, one of the largest thermal power plants in Russia, is one of the major sources of air pollution in the Moscow region.
The Shaturskaya TPP is also one of the most inefficient power plants in the world. It uses more fuel to generate the same amount of electricity than most other power plants. As a result, the Shaturskaya TPP is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions.
Future of power supply in the Moscow region
The Government of the Moscow region is planning to address the issue of power supply in the region. New power plants will be built, and the existing power system will be modernized. The new power plants will be more efficient and less polluting. As a result, the power supply in the Moscow region will become more reliable and environmentally friendly.
