Toronto Maple Leafs Acquire Ryan O'Reilly

The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired center Ryan O'Reilly from the St. Louis Blues in a blockbuster trade. O'Reilly, a veteran of over 900 NHL games, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Maple Leafs. He has won the Selke Trophy as the league's best defensive forward twice and has been a key contributor to the Blues' Stanley Cup victory in 2019.

In exchange for O'Reilly, the Maple Leafs sent forward Noel Acciari, prospect Adam Gaudette, and a 2023 first-round pick to the Blues.

Colorado Avalanche Win Eighth Straight Game

The Colorado Avalanche extended their winning streak to eight games with a 5-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night. Nathan MacKinnon led the Avalanche with a goal and two assists, while Mikko Rantanen and Valeri Nichushkin each added a goal and an assist.

The Avalanche are now 15-2-1 in their last 18 games and have moved into first place in the Central Division.

Connor McDavid Reaches 100 Points

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid reached 100 points for the sixth time in his career with an assist on Leon Draisaitl's goal in the third period of Saturday night's game against the Colorado Avalanche. McDavid is the fastest player in NHL history to reach 100 points in six seasons.

McDavid now has 101 points (37 goals, 64 assists) in 55 games this season and is on pace to break Wayne Gretzky's single-season record of 215 points.
