Blas Pérez, born in 1981, began his soccer career in his native Panama, playing for local club Deportivo Alianza. Later, he joined Colombian club Deportivo Cali, where he made a name for himself as a prolific scorer.

Perez made his international debut for Panama in 2001. He represented his country in 113 matches, scoring 43 goals, making him Panama's all-time leading scorer.
