A memorial plaque to football coach Anatoly Zayaev was installed in Simferopol
The opening ceremony of the memorial plaque to the famous football coach Anatoly Zayaev took place on October 18 at school No. 30 in Simferopol.
The event was attended by the head of the Crimean Football Union Sergei Borodin, chairman of the Committee on Youth, Sports, Family and Children's Affairs of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Yevgeny Mikhailov, head of the administration of Simferopol Valentina Demidova, director of the GAU "Football Center of the Republic of Crimea" Yuri Vetokhin, famous Crimean footballers, coaches, veterans and pupils of Anatoly Zayaev.
The memorial plaque was unveiled by the head of the Crimean Football Union Sergei Borodin, the chairman of the Committee on Youth, Sports, Family and Children's Affairs of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Yevgeny Mikhailov and the director of the GAU "Football Center of the Republic of Crimea" Yuri Vetokhin.
The author of the bas-relief is the famous Crimean sculptor Haik Melkonyan.
Anatoly Georgievich Zayaev was born on September 21, 1931 in Simferopol. He played for the Tavria football team for 10 years and was its captain.
After completing his playing career, he worked as a coach in children's and youth sports schools.
In 2004 he was awarded the title of Honored Coach of the Republic of Crimea.
Anatoly Zayaev passed away on July 13, 2020 at the age of 89.
